‘To Catch a Predator’ Host Chris Hansen Arrested After Not Turning Over Sex Trafficking Video Evidence

Former host of “To Catch a Predator” Chris Hansen turned himself into authorities Friday and was later released following a Michigan judge’s issue of a warrant for not showing up for a scheduled court appearance.

The 61-year-old surrendered to police and was briefly detained at the Shiawassee golden goose sneakers County jail in Corunna, Michigan. He was summoned to the jail on Thursday to explain why he didn’t hand over requested footage of a police sting operation. It was anticipated he would present a video against three men charged with attempting to solicit underage girls for sex, the Associated Press reported.

Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson invited Hansen to take part in the sting, according to NBC 25 News.

The ex-“Dateline NBC” reporter also attended the press conference following the sting, confirming his presence at the investigation on Oct. 13 and announcing that he interviewed one of the suspects arrested, a 32-year-old corrections officer.

“While I think nothing will ever shock me, here again is somebody who is a lawman, who is sworn to protect, whose job it is to monitor inmates in a state prison,” Hansen said. “It goes to show that these guys come from all walks of life.”

Hansen said a video clip of the interview would see release in the near future, reported M Live Michigan.

Hansen did offer an edited video, but one of the defendants demanded the complete footage, which he argued could provide exonerating evidence, AP reported.

According to Hansen’s lawyer, his client neglected to appear at the court hearing because of a misunderstanding concerning a subpoena.

“He wasn’t intending to not appear or to be somebody that was trying to circumvent the process. It was just an unfortunate skechers outlet set of circumstances that resulted in a failure to appear,” attorney Clint Perryman told AP.

Hansen was eventually released and has 14 days to deliver the uncut video, said prosecutor Scott Koerner. Hansen later made a post to Instagram about the arrest, claiming, “the matter is currently being resolved!”

“The court matter in Shiawasse Co, Mi today resulted from a predator investigation there,” he wrote. “Defense lawyers for accused predator Michael Lott had requested video from the investigation. There was miscommunication about a hearing today on the issue.!”

Biden press secretary shuts down call to remove Thomas-Greenfield over ‘white supremacy’ remarks

UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield spoke about America’s racist history and said “the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.”

Right-wing media are criticizing UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield for commenting on America’s racist foundation.

Thomas-Greenfield spoke about America’s racist history at a recent appearance at the Rev. Al Sharpton‘s National Action Network’s 2021 virtual convention. The ambassador’s comments were originally taped and played this week.

“We have to acknowledge that we are an imperfect union and have been since the beginning,” she said. “I’ve seen for myself how the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.”

She touched upon her own background.

“I have personally experienced one of America’s greatest imperfections. Those of us who experience racism cannot, and should not, internalize it, despite the impact it can have on our everyday lives. Racism is the problem of the racist. And it is the problem of the society that produces the racist. And in today’s world, that is every society,” she added.

Her words prompted a reporter during a White House briefing to ask if she will be removed from her position. Newsmax’s Emerald Robinson asked if President Joe Biden is “going to remove her from her position,” because of her comments. She compared the comments to anti-U.S. rhetoric made by Chinese diplomats last month in Alaska.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Examines Nomination Of Linda Thomas-Greenfield For UN Ambassador

But the White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed on Friday he will not and that Thomas-Greenfield is more than qualified.

“Is the president going to remove an African American woman with decades of experience in the Foreign Service who is widely respected around the world from her position as ambassador to the UN? He is not,” said Psaki.

“He is proud to have her in that position. She is not only qualified, he believes she is exactly the right person in that role at this moment in time,” she added. “I have not seen her comments. I will say that there’s no question that there has been a history of institutional racism in this country and that doesn’t require the UN ambassador to confirm that.”

Social media users took to Twitter to applaud Psaki for her swift and remarkable response; agreeing that America obviously has a troubling and dark racist past we still grapple with today.

“Our country was built with slave labor slaves could not vote slaves weren’t considered to be a full human it took until the 1950s to even start to make some progress on Civil Rights yes, our country and founding of our country was based on white supremacy Psaki is so good,” said one user.

Donald Trump Caught Wearing FaceMask For The 1st Time At Ford Motor Plant— See Pic

After weeks of refusing to wear a face mask despite CDC recommendations, Donald Trump donned one at Ford plant in Michigan. But he only did it backstage and not in front of reporters or news cameras.

He finally did it! For a brief period on May 21, Donald Trump at last wore a face mask. The president, 73, has been adamant about not wearing any type of facial protection in public throughout the coronavirus crisis, despite the CDC’s strong recommendation to do so. During a tour of the Ford Motor plant in Ypsilanti, MI, where workers are helping manufacture ventilators for the COVID-19 battle, Trump put on a face mask while talking backstage to Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. The photo showing a masked Trump alongside the exec and several others wearing face protection was reportedly snapped by a Ford employee behind the scenes.

Trump wore the navy colored mask with what appeared to be a presidential seal on the left side during a private tour of the facility, where masks are required at all times. But he flouted that rule as soon as he got in front of the media pool, taking it off so that he was not wearing a mask while talking to reporters. He thus openly broke Ford’s Return to Work Manufacturing Playbook rule that states: “Everyone is required to wear a Ford-provided face mask at all times upon entering the building” to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

MI State Attorney Genera Dana Nessel — a Democrat — absolutely unloaded on Trump’s childish refusal to wear a mask at all times when visiting the plant. During an appearance on CNN’s The Situation Room, she told host Wolf Blitzer that Trump is “A petulant child who refuses to follow the rules and this is no joke. 93,000 people have died in the United States. He’s in a county right now where over 100 people have died. This is not a joke. He’s conveying the worst possible message to people who cannot afford to be on the receiving end of terrible misinformation.”

OMG! He actually wore one. See, it didn’t hurt that much. Does it have the Presidential seal on it?

When Blitzer told Nessel that the explanation Trump gave reporters as to why he took off the mask for his appearance in front of them was along the lines of he “didn’t want to give” the media the “pleasure” of getting the image, Nessel was furious. “I am ashamed to have him be President of the United States of America. And I hope that the voters of Michigan will remember this when November comes, that he didn’t care enough about their safety, he didn’t care about their welfare, he didn’t respect them enough just to engage in the very simple task, the painless task, the easy task of wearing a mask when he was provided one,” she vented. “And so I hope that we’ll have a new president soon enough who does respect people more than this president does.”

Trump announced on Apr. 3 that CDC had recommended that all Americans wear some type of mask or facial covering to help stop the spread of COVID-19. But like an angry child he stressed that it was a “voluntary” decision for citizens and that he would not be wearing one himself. Trump has since refused to wear one when he toured an actual face mask factory in Arizona on May 5, where wearing masks was required of everyone inside the facility. Trump also went mask-free on May 14 during a visit to a medical equipment distribution company in Allentown, PA. The photo of Trump wearing a mask backstage at the Ford plant today is the first time he’s been pictured with one on since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
